Merry Xmas - Sharing some giftwrappings

Merry Xmas everyone!  I hope you are enjoying the holidays!
I sure am!
It is so nice to have some days off relaxing and spending time with family and friends, right?

I am hoping to get into the crafty mode soon, as I am off work untill January 5th ! Yay!
For now, I wanted to share some recent giftwrappings.

I got these very cute giftbags from Cosmo Cricket a while ago ( I love the vellum bag with glittery stars!) and  I created some tags with the über cute Avery Elle Story Book stamp set. The sentiment is also from an Avery Elle stamp set "Oh happy Day".

Colored with copics on watercolor paper (probably not the best option for copics!) and added some wink of stella glitter to match the stars.

Next up, I had this cute Lawn Fawn dog on my desk (colored during the Online Card Class for Copics)...

I used the Lawn Die to make the split panel for the dog to peek out from. This die is really a favorite of mine - so versatile!

And here it is - on the gift bag - ready for a sweet girl, who celebrated her 11th birthday on Christmas Eve!

Thanks for stopping by - I know it has been a while since I made a post here... So busy at work lately!

Enjoy the rest of your holidays!  Take care!!

Hugs,

Scrapsisters Julekort Kursus SneakPeek og info

Sorry for the Danish Post here...
I am teaching in a Danish Online Class and this post is about the class...

 Pssst....
giver i øvrigt shopping rabat til alle kursister!

Copics - backgrounds day 9

I am back today with a few cards using a Copics background technique taught in Class.
I think using the brick urban style in this aqua color, paired with the cute MFT stamp could resemble ice blocks :-)

I've added just a bit of wink of stella glitter on the white fur for some shine. The white panels on both cards were stamped with a Hero Arts background stamp (on the first card in wet cement ink and on the last card for a very subtle background I used Hero Arts Unicorn White)

 Copics: Jacket & Shoes: R22,R24, R29. Scarf: B00, B02, Background: G000, Skin: E50, E31, E55, RV10.
Stamps: MFT Celebrate the season, Hero Arts Starry Sky
Paper: Hero Arts layering paper, Neenah Solar White,
Other: May Arts twine, Studio Calico Wood veneer stars, MFT stitched tag die.

Since I practiced the coloring of this image a few times, I made 2 cards...

 CopicsJacket & Shoes: R22,R24, R29. Scarf: B00, B02, Background: G000, Skin: E50, E31, E55, RV10.
Stamps: MFT Celebrate the season, Hero Arts Starry Sky
Paper:  Neenah Solar White, Bazzill
Other; Little B Heart Die, SSS Holiday shapes die, glossy accents.

I will be back later to show more practice sheets from the class.
Happy World CardMaking Day!!

Copics, sharing Online Class Homework + a card

Today I am sharing some of my homework from an Online Card Class.
All about Copics.
I've had a set of copics for ages but I've not been using them very much.
I've truly always been intimidated by this type of coloring....

The online class is really awesome.
I have already learned a lot - now I just need to practice, practice, practice......

Day 3: Shading with Grey
This was really difficult but I think with more practice and getting to know good color combinations, this technique would be useful. I like the cup, but my umbrellas were a disaster :)

Day 4: Shading & lights
I've always found it difficult to know where to put the shading but we learned some very handy techniques in the class and here I am sharing a few of my practice results.
This first one is creating texture with the flicking technique. Also very much used for hair. I really like this technique very much.
(sorry for the blurry part of the photo - the colors used are E02, R02 & YR04). I used the same greens as for the yellow flower image.)

This next one is regular shading with the light coming from the left.

Day 5: Hair & Skin
And finally a few practice results with traditional brown & black hair. I must admit, I cheated a bit with the black, as I did not have a black copics marker, I used a distress ink marker for the black strokes.

The skin coloring is really difficult - I think I need some more skin colors AND more practice!!!

Also practicing hair and skin on this ballerina. I dropped too much wink of stella glitter on the lashes :-(

And finally sharing a card I did with a favourite old owl stamp from Hero Arts. I wanted to practice coloring on real stamped images. I accidently dropped some ink on to the top of the card, so I had to cover my mistake by this chalkboard-like speech bubble.... :-) And with the direction of the shading I probably should have reversed the speech bubble, oh well!

Oh happy Sunday!!

Salvaging - time for a tag :-)

I have been trying out a range of different water color techniques lately...
The results were very different and I haven't really been able to finalize anything for a full card yet !

Anyway, I made this gift tag out of one of failed background pieces. I couldn't throw it away and I think it looks okay on this tag, eventhough it does not really have the watercolor effect, I was looking for. The white stars impressions in the background is made with a Tim Holtz stencil.

I stitched on some vellum stars with silver thread and emsembled the tag with an extra die cut on the back,  to hide the stitching. It makes is nice and sturdy, too!

Supplies:
Hero Arts Find Joy Stamp Set, MFT stitched tag die, MFT stars die, Tim Holtz Water color paper, Tim Holtz Stencil, Distress inks (shabby shutters, evergreen bough, mustard seed, ripe persimmon, festive berries), Sequins & gems.

What about you do ? Do you try to salvage failed pieces as well?

hello foxy!

I cannot believe that my last post was in February! So sorry for the MIA!
I blame it on my job, which requires so much attention and leaves very little time for being creative!

Bummer!

I am daily flying back and forth between my home and Copenhagen (sometimes spending the nights there), so there is no real energy for making cards. Just the usual for birthdays and stuff, but no time to blog and share!

Today was one of the good days - up early to work a bit in the garden,  then I created a hydrangea wreath for the front door, made plum jams (3 kinds with rosemary, chili & liquorice) and finally I found a bit of time for making one card.

Helping my mojo ( I am a bit rusty!) this time was this Moxie Challenge Foxy theme.
Go  check it out! ;) Aren't Foxes just the cutes!?

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts E5465 Fox, Lawn Fawn Critters in the Forest.
Other: Watercolors, Wink Of Stella pen, Washi tape, Hero Arts Watercolor paper, Hero Arts Layering Paper

And I leave you with a collage from this fab Late Summer Day!

Take care and thanks for stopping by!

tags, tags, tags...

Went totally tag crazy at the scrap club this week ... Used some of my newly bought stencils for some very simple tags, on this first photo here. I just love the harlequin stencil from Tim Holtz.
The text stamps are from Hero Arts - the tags were cut on the Silhouette Cameo.

Some kind of golden packing material were at hand at the club for recycling, and I made some golden tags embellished with some pattern papers, sentiment and some nice twine.

And this last one -  a very different looking tag - layered, using some nice patterns and that sweet feather die from MFT.

I am still trying to catch up with the homework form the Stenciled Class - will post later on that ;)

Have a good one!

Stenciled - Day 1 (catching up)

Hey,

I am taking a fab online class Stenciled and I am just catching up the homework here.

This card was inspired by Debby's in the Day 1 class. I just love her card - so classy as always.

I am always affraid of copying someone else 's work - but I do like the stenciled pattern going from one corner to the other. I softly used 3 Ranger Distress inks (scattered straw, bundled sage & evergreen bough) with my ink applicator, over the stencil (the kaleidoscope from TCW).

I used a mixture of diecuts (an older cuttlebug die LOVE) and some hearts from SSS (holiday Shapes) for my focal point and added a lot of shimmer with the Wink of Stella clear pen.

Supplies:
Stamps: WPlus9 Fanciful Feathers (the YOU)
Inks: ranger distress ink Scattered Straw, Bundled Sage, Evergreen bough
Stencil: Kaleidoscope TCW
Paper: Bazzill & Hero Arts
Other: SSS diecut Holiday Shapes, Wink of Stella Pen, metallic thread, vellum.

I haven't used stencils too much in the past - but this class definitely inspires to try out some fun techniques !!

WPlus9 - Monday Mood Board #25

I am playing along with the Monday Mood Board Challenge at WPlus9.
Love the color combination in the moodboard and the chevrons, don't you? ;)

Here is my card - inspired by the colors and the chevron patterns.

The background layer was misted quite heavily with the Ranger Perfect Pearl mist (sunflower sparkle) - it almost looks golden.

Supplies:
Stamps: WPlus Fanciful Feathers
Papers: Bazzill mashmellow cs, Bazzill vellum
Inks: Hero Arts shadow inks (silver, gold, butterbar)
Other: May arts twine, hero arts pearls, MFT chevron stripes die.

Two Valentines

It seems like the cobber copper trend is continuing here in Denmark ;) I noticed on Pinterest searching for the word cobber that it seems only to be in the nordic countries people are nuts about cobber copper. Edt: duh, I just realized I misspelled the word copper - huh apparently it is spelled with double P not B !! ;)

Anyhow, I thought I would make a card featuring some copper details ;) and as Valentines is coming up I made 2 Valentine themed cards.

I used a wooden skeewer (the kind we use for BBQs) for the arrow and cut a little V in the die cut MFT feather to mimic a real arrow - I really love those copper details combined with the pale pink.

I stamped the XO from the Hero Arts XO set in black and added the cut out pieces to the little glassine bag.

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts XO CL586 , Hero Arts So Sweet CL276
Papers: Bazzill, MME minipad LOVE ME
Other: MFT Feathers & Arrow Die, Copper thread, glassine bag, Ranger Perfect Pearls Mists (perfect copper)

My 2nd Valentines features a set of diamond shapes (cut out on the cameo) using pattern papers from the MME minipad LOVE ME.

I added tiny foam dot pieces to raise the diamond at the top and bottom - for some added interest.

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts XO CL586
Papers: Bazzill, MME minipad LOVE ME
Other: Foam dots, Lawn Fawn Twine

Have a great sunday!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year here from the rainy Denmark! Here is a selfie taken (by me) on New Years Eve. Fiona wanted to be in the picture, too :)

I did plan to be creative during the holidays but besides helping out with some invitations I didn't get anything done. Well, I did clean up my craft room which is a good thing, right?

Inspired by Kristinas wonderful winter thanks card on the SSS blog I pulled out my little cute Merry Kissmas stamp set from My Favorite Things.  I also wanted to try out the watercoloring using distress markers - oh boy I need to practice ;) This card is my 3rd try - I think when watercoloring - it is okay to color outside the lines, huh :-) :-)  Some sparkle was added with the oh so famous wink of stella pen!

Well, I hope 2014 will be a fantastic year for all of you!  Thanks to all of you who stopped by during 2013 and leaving wonderful comments. I really appreciate it! I'll definitely try to do some more stamping and blogging in 2014!
